9 SIMPLE STEPS TO BUILDING THE PERFECT DRESS SHIRT

Follow these instructions on how to measure your body for the perfect dress shirt. 100% Egyptian Cotton fabric is cut to your exact measurements to ensure your dress shirt enhances your physique and fits the way you want. We recommend having another person available to help you measure yourself. Please also pay close attention to the words in bold below. Simply enter these corresponding measurements into our Made to Measure system for any of our dress shirt designs.

1. NECK SIZE
Place the measuring tape around the neck at the height where the collar if buttoned, would normally rest. This will be just below your Adam’s apple and above your Sternal notch. Make sure you stand in a relaxed position. Do not extend your neck out or squeeze your chin down. The tape should be comfortably touching the skin, with enough room so that you do not feel restricted. Place one finger under the tape measure to ensure some but not too much room for comfort.
2. CHEST SIZE
Run the measuring tape around the fullest part of your chest, tight up under your armpits and over the shoulder blades, across your nipples. Hold the tape tight enough against the body so that it does not slip down. Allow your arms to hang down in a relaxed, natural pose. Do not stick out your chest or arch your back. Take a normal breath and then measure and double check.
3. WAIST/STOMACH SIZE
Run the tape around the fullest part of the stomach. This is usually around the level of the belly button or just below the bottom ribs, whichever is greater. The measuring tape should be snug on the skin, but not squeezing in. Do not suck in your stomach and stand in a relaxed position. Double check this measurement.
4. HIPS/BUTTOCKS SIZE
Measure around the fullest part of your hips and buttocksThe measuring tape should be relaxed on the skin, but not loose. Stand in a relaxed position with your legs together in a normal position. Double check this measurement.
5. ARM LENGTH SIZE
Place the measuring tape at the shoulder where the vertical part of the arm and horizontal part of the shoulder form an angle. Make sure you measure from the shoulder to the "Pinch" of the hand where the base of the thumb and base of the index finger meet. Repeat this step for the other arm. If one arm is longer than the other, take an average of the two for your measurement.
6. BICEP SIZE
Measure around your bicep at its fullest part. This is usually close to the armpit. Relax your arm and don't flex during this measurement. No need to measure the other arm.
7. BACK LENGTH SIZE
Place the first end of the measuring tape at the base of the back of your neck and measure down your back to the point where you’d want the shirt to be. This point is usually the bottom of the buttocks, although you may want to go slightly longer if you plan to always tuck the shirt in, or slightly shorter if you plan to wear the shirt un-tucked.
8. SHOULDER WIDTH SIZE
Place the measuring tape across the top of the back from the right shoulder to the left shoulder. Make sure you measure to the end of each shoulder where the vertical part of the arm and horizontal part of the shoulder form an angle.
9. WRIST SIZE
Place the tape around the fullest part of the wrist usually at the wrist bone. Round up to the nearest inch for this measurement. We will add an extra inch to this measurement for comfort. No need to measure the other arm for this measurement.
